by the way, I hate it when people say they love how awkward Jesse Eisenberg is.You can throw anon hate mail in my face.
But I hate it when I see it.
читать дальшеI can’t imagine being praised, being complimented on something you’ve hated all your life and have tried to get rid of during the whole expense of your existence.
Being praised for something that you’ve always been a little ashamed of, for something that you try desperately to tone down and minimize, for something that is incurable and will cling to you all your life.
I’m not so angry about it that I find it unforgivable. I don’t actively hate any individual for saying they find Jesse ‘delightfully awkward’ like it’s something to be praised; I don’t feel like verbally tearing down Jennifer Lawrence just because she thought his ‘quirks’ were interesting.
I find it silly and insensitive. I’m infuriated that so many people are unaware of the realities of anxiety. But I know they meant no harm; they just don’t know they’re talking bullshit. No real, actual harm or offense is caused.
Otherwise I’d be writing 5000 words on this matter, full of moralizing and preaching. LOL. I’d be a lot more furious about it.

I’m pretty sure Jesse shrugs these remarks off at once. Everybody gets misunderstood once in a while. It’s probably better if the world is ignorant of pain and suffering and ‘quirks’ get appreciated instead of taking seriously.
I mean… I’m not sure which is worse: to be joyfully unaware and only mildly curious; or to be sympathetic and purportedly understanding.
Sometimes the latter is worse. Sometimes strangers telling you they ‘understand’ and feel bad for you is a million times worse than strangers not understanding you at all and taking you for a little joke.
Ideally, in my mind, fans would just appreciate JE for being a fine actor and a decent respectable person and a humourist. They’d not pay attention to any ‘awkwardness’.
But that’s not to be.© moviesorientated.tumblr.com
